DSC and Lancaster County Parks and Recreation announce new partnership for 2017/18 season

For Immediate Release;

Discoveries Soccer Club and Lancaster County Parks and Recreation (LCPR) are delighted to announce a new partnership moving into the 2017/2018 season. Commencing this summer, DSC will begin supporting the LCPR soccer program through summer camps, player clinics, coach/parent education programs, while also helping promote activities through social media and other program specific marketing campaigns. Through this agreement, DSC will provide LCPR with consistent staff support through the season, assisting in certain administrative roles such as evaluations, scheduling, and on-site program assistance. This partnership will also see DSC register LCPR members through SCYSA to help enhance the LCPR experience through SCYSA affiliation.

Also, through our successful Youth Development Model, DSC will look to offer a structured and professional player pathway for the more advanced LCPR player looking to expand their soccer experience. The Lancaster arm of our YDP program will work in conjunction with Lancaster County Parks and Rec, offering a clear route to advance each Lancaster player to his or her own ability and potential.

Executive Director Dave Carton;

“This is a great opportunity for all involved. Both DSC and Lancaster County Parks and Rec are committed to providing the highest level of service to each of our members. We have always enjoyed great support in the Lancaster community and we have had some great players and families from Lancaster come through our program. There are some exciting things happening in Lancaster County and we are thrilled and excited to play a major role in continuing to develop youth soccer in the area.  Thanks to Mickey Taylor for his efforts and ambition to continue to grow your program. Through Mickey Taylor LCPR have taken a very progressive and inclusive approach to their program and we are looking forward to working together in the future.”

Discoveries staff will begin collaborating with LCPR staff and officials in the summer 2017 to begin promoting and developing all programming on offer through Lancaster County recreations soccer department. For more information please visit;
