Discoveries Soccer Club Appoints Nathan William as first USL II Head Coach and Head of Coach Development

Discoveries Soccer Club is proud to announce the appointment of Nathan Williams as Head Coach of DSC USL II for our inaugural season. Williams has enjoyed a very successful career in youth development working in elite leadership roles at Placer United (CA.), NC Fusion (NC), Charlotte Soccer Academy (NC) and most recently as ECNL Director at the Carolina Rapids (NC). Alongside his role as Head Coach, Williams will also serve as Head of Coach Development at DSC, heading up the club’s coach education and professional development department. Williams qualifications include; holds a USSF A License, USSF National GK License, USSF National Youth License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, UEFA B License. He has also worked as a member of the United Soccer Coaches Associate Coaching Staff, a member of the US Club National ID2 Staff, NCYSA Coaching Education Staff member, Cal South and Cal North Coaching Education Staff member.

Hiring Nathan in a coaching capacity with the USL II team is a big step as his knowledge, experience, and ability to build relationships will provide us with a recruiting edge, while his ability to get the very best out of elite players will guarantee our players a great experience working under him. Moreover, utilizing Nathan’s ability to teach, and taking advantage of his passion to influence coaches will be where the entire club will feel the benefit of Nathan’s new role at DSC. I have known Nathan for some time now, working with, and against him, and he will transform how our coaches approach their work and provide us with the added support and guidance needed to continue to improve and evolve Discoveries Soccer Club”.

Williams will start his new role with DSC March 1 2019.
