The DSC 03 Green Predator team, coached by Phillip McCarter, will compete in the USYSA President’s Cup beginning June 13th in Greenville, SC. The team qualified by winning the PMSL State Cup in December.
“I am extremely excited for our players and to be able to coach our team in the upcoming USYSA Presidents’ Cup Southern Regionals. We are honored and feel deeply blessed to be able to represent our state and our club in this prestigious cup. Very few teams earn the privilege of being able to compete against some of the best teams in the South, from Tennessee to Texas. The winner of the tournament will earn the right to challenge for a National Championship in Indiana in July against the three other regional winners. After the high school season ended, our team began conducting three training sessions per week to re-establish the chemistry that we possessed during our successful run through the SC State Cup in December. Our team is very solid defensively and yet we play an attacking, DSC brand of soccer. We hope compete to the best of our abilities during the cup and to bring home a regional championship,” said Coach Phillip McCarter.
The team will play a group match format Wednesday through Friday with the semis on Saturday based on standings. The winners on the South Region Presidents Cup will qualify for the National Presidents Cup in Indiana from July 11-15.
