Soccer America Names Discoveries SC one of the top 40 Youth Clubs for 2009.

Another reason for our members to be proud to be part of Discoveries Soccer Club!

The most important criteria for determining "Soccer America's Top 40 youth rankings" was success in the US Youth Soccer National Championships during a three-year cycle (2007-2009) and the number of players who went on to US Soccer National Teams and were selected to US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program All-Star rosters.

Discoveries Soccer Club was named #30 due in part due to the success of the DSC 90 Green's fantastic run to the National Championships. Soccer America stated 'Discoveries SC, the sensation of the 2009 National Championships, became the first team from South Carolina to win a US Youth Soccer title, completing a perfect run through the state tournament, regionals and nationals."

In the past 3 years besides the 90 Green team success, individually, those team members were rostered on Region 3 and SC ODP teams.  In addition several DSC players have been part of the SC ODP system and this year attended the Region 3 Camp in Alabama July 13-18, 2009. 

DSC 92 Green Sam Faris attended with the SC 92 ODP team

DSC 95 Green Julian Welborn attended with the SC 95 ODP team

DSC 95 Green Andrew Raad attended with the SC 96 ODP team #1. Andrew Raad, a member of the 96 Region 3 team, was invited to participate in the USYS U14 National Identification Camp in Concord, Massachusetts August 2-8.

DSC 95 Caleb Moore and Tk Abderahman attended with the NC ODP team #2. Both played in NC during 2008-09 and elected to participate in NC ODP and 96 Region 3 representing NC.

Andrew Raad and Caleb Moore will travel with the 96 Region 3 team in November to compete in the Disney’s Jr. Soccer Showcase Tournament.

Over the years we have also had several teams compete in the SCYSA State Challenge and Classic Cups. The Club is dedicated to providing the best soccer environment we can to advance our players.  Discoveries Soccer Club has the best coaches in the area and have proven our Club's success in the younger and older ages.

Discoveries is very proud to be named in this article and we will continue to inspire every player to reach their potential.
